“For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line: here a little, and there a little” -Isaiah 28:10
As Isaiah put it we are to learn little by little and take things in life step by step. As my brother said in The Zorro Circle. Zorro was not able to progress unless he did what was needed in the first circle, in other words he had to learn little by little, these two principles are one in the same. As children of God we all have decided to be here on Earth to learn. We all have a starting point and to get from A to Z we need to make sure we have touched B,C,D, etc. Jesus Christ learned just like us. He had two completely different genes, He was a God compacted in a mortal body, therefore restricted by the limitations we are stuck with. He got tired, He had to eat, He had to walk places. People may wonder why He is only heard of from as a baby, on one occasion a young boy, then all the way to when He was in His 30s. What went on in those years? I believe He was working, studying, praying and learning like we all need to. That’s one reason we can look to Him as a perfect example because He experienced it. Here is some modern day scripture to help illustrate it.
Doctrine and Covenants 93:11-14
11 And I, John, bear record that I beheld his glory, as the glory of the Only Begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth, even the Spirit of truth, which came and dwelt in the flesh, and dwelt among us.
12 And I, John, saw that he received not of the fulness at the first, but received grace for grace;
13 And he received not of the fulness at first, but continued from grace to grace, until he received a fulness;
14 And thus he was called the Son of God, because he received not of the fulness at the first.
There is no rush to the top because there is a process to get there and we will if we put the right forward followed by the left. I have experienced this many times and have seen how much of a difference it makes. The grace of God is sufficient for all of us and our needs, by diligently taking steps to progress we will surpass whatever we imagined ourselves doing or being. We can do this!
